SAVINGS BOOK

Privacy Policy

Effective 10 August 2026

The short version

Savings Book keeps a private record of what you have saved. Everything you enter stays on your phone. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no server behind the app — we never receive your figures, because there is nowhere for them to be sent. The only thing that ever leaves your device is a purchase, and Google Play handles that without telling us who you are.

Information we collect

None. Savings Book does not collect, store, or transmit any personal or identifying information. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or location. There are no user accounts and no profiles. We do not assign advertising or device identifiers, and we cannot see what is in your book.

What is stored on your device

Everything the app is for: the amounts you record, when you recorded them, the goals you name, the holdings you keep, and the currency your book is counted in. This lives in a database file that belongs to the app and that other apps cannot read. It never leaves your device, and uninstalling the app removes it permanently.

Papers you attach

You can attach a photo or document to an entry as evidence — a receipt, a deed, a registration. When you pick one, the app copies it into its own private storage and reads nothing else. This is why Savings Book asks for permission to read media: it is used only at the moment you choose a file, and only for the file you chose. Attached papers are never uploaded anywhere.

Backups you write

The Backup screen writes your whole record to a plain text file in the app's own folder, so you can keep a copy somewhere safe. The app writes that file and nothing more — it does not send it anywhere, and it does not read it back. Once you copy the file off your device, where it goes and who can read it is up to you.

Purchases

Savings Book Pro is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Google Play. We never see your card details, billing address, or Google account — Play processes the payment and tells the app only whether it succeeded. That entitlement is then stored on your device as a single yes-or-no setting, and Play remembers the purchase against your Google account so a new phone can restore it.

This is the only reason the app needs network access at all, and the network permissions in the app come from Google's own billing library rather than from anything we wrote.

Permissions the app requests

Reading media, used only when you pick a paper to attach. Internet and billing access, used only by Google Play to complete a purchase. Savings Book does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, location, or any other protected part of your device.

No analytics, no ads, no third parties

There are no analytics tools, no advertising networks, and no tracking of any kind in Savings Book. No third-party service receives information about you or about how you use the app. Google Play Billing is the only outside service the app talks to, and only when you choose to buy something.

Children

Savings Book is a personal finance tool intended for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone — of any age — because the app collects nothing at all.

Your data, and why we cannot help you recover it

Because your record exists only on your device, there is nothing held elsewhere for you to request, correct, or have deleted. Deleting the app deletes everything. The other side of that promise is that if you lose your phone, we cannot recover your book for you — nobody can, because no copy of it has ever existed anywhere else. That is what the Backup screen is there for, and it is worth using.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change how Savings Book handles data, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. The policy published here is always the current one.
