Privacy Policy
Effective 16 August 2026
The short version
Sayyar keeps your car's service history on your phone and nowhere else. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no server behind the app — we never receive your records, because there is nowhere for them to be sent. The app does not ask for internet access at all.
Information we collect
None. Sayyar does not collect, store, or transmit any personal or identifying information. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or location. There are no user accounts and no profiles. We do not assign advertising or device identifiers, and we cannot see anything about your vehicle.
What is stored on your device
Everything the app is for: your vehicle's details, the odometer readings you enter, the work you log, what each visit cost, the garages you name, and the schedule the app works out from all of it. This lives in a database file that belongs to the app and that other apps cannot read. It never leaves your device, and uninstalling the app removes it permanently.
Papers you attach
You can attach a photo or document to a service record — an invoice, a warranty card, a registration. When you pick one, the app copies it into its own private storage and reads nothing else. That is the only reason Sayyar ever touches your gallery: at the moment you choose a file, and only for the file you chose. Attached papers are never uploaded anywhere.
Reminders
Sayyar works out when a service falls due and raises a notification on your device to tell you. Those notifications are scheduled and delivered entirely by Android on the phone itself — no message is sent to us, and nothing about them travels over a network. This is why the app asks permission to post notifications, and to restart its schedule after the phone reboots so a pending reminder is not silently lost.
Backups you write
The Backup screen writes your whole record to a file in a place you choose, so you can keep a copy somewhere safe. The app writes that file and nothing more — it does not send it anywhere. Once you copy the file off your device, where it goes and who can read it is up to you.
Permissions the app requests
Posting notifications, used for maintenance reminders. Restarting after a reboot, so those reminders survive the phone being switched off. Reading media, used only when you pick a paper to attach. Sayyar does not request internet access, nor your camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, location, or any other protected part of your device.
No analytics, no ads, no third parties
There are no analytics tools, no advertising networks, no crash reporting, and no tracking of any kind in Sayyar. No third-party service receives information about you or about how you use the app, because the app talks to no outside service.
Children
Sayyar is a vehicle maintenance tool intended for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone — of any age — because the app collects nothing at all.
Your data, and why we cannot help you recover it
Because your record exists only on your device, there is nothing held elsewhere for you to request, correct, or have deleted. Deleting the app deletes everything. The other side of that promise is that if you lose your phone, we cannot recover your service history for you — nobody can, because no copy of it has ever existed anywhere else. That is what the Backup screen is there for, and it is worth using.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change how Sayyar handles data, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. The policy published here is always the current one.
